ST. ANTON SKI OPEN
November 28th to 30th 2008
Are you ready to rumble? The skiing season at St. Anton starts on Friday 28th of November 2008. One day later the special XXL format giant slalom takes place on November 29th.
2007 saw the premiere of this great race. A breathtaking and exhausting distance of 3 kilometres has to be covered by the participants of this “Everyman's Race”, starting at the Kapall mountain and finishing at the ski world championship stadium at St. Anton am Arlberg. Many great prizes and a huge party are waiting for the participants.
Traditional Krampus custom - Christmas market – Christmas carols
On the 5th of December the traditional “Krampuslauf” parade of masked figures disguised as devils to scare away the evil spirits of winter takes place.
This event is accompanied by a Christmas market. Enjoy beautiful Austrian Christmas carols at the traditional “Arlberger Adventsingen” on December 13th 2008 at 7pm.
Tennis Trophy
December 10th to 13th 2008
International top athletes compete at St. Anton am Arlberg between December 10th and 13th 2008 at the tennis trophy event. “Blowing Snow – the snow must go on” is the motto of this spectacular demo show organised by the local ski schools and the tourist office. From the 7th of January the show is performed every Wednesday at 9pm with free admission.

Arlberger Neujahrskonzert - the Arlberg new year's concert

Classical music accompanies the first steps into the new year. The Ambassade Orchestra Vienne performs on January 4th 2009 at the World Championship Hall ARLBERG, conducted by the honorary citizen of St. Anton - Prof. Dr. Rudolf Streicher. An entertaining new year's concert at the highest musical level.
Ladies First - wellbeing weeks in January

The wellbeing of the ladies is put on a comfortable pedestal from January 10th to 30th 2009 in the Arlberg holiday region. January 31st to February 7th 2009
From January 31st to February 7th the Ski Club Arlberg in the Arlberg region offers a special opportunity to its members. The motto of this event is “exploring the cradle of alpine skiing” and a wide range of activities is available on this occasion.
In addition ski club members are welcome to look forward to enjoying a special entertainment programme in the Arlberg region – a highlight of the skiing season every year. Please take into account that this programme is only available for members of the Ski Club.

Intersport Spring Festival:
April 21st to 25th 2009
Take the unique opportunity to see professional skiers and snowboarders in action. During the official skiing instructor and demo championships Austrian skiing veterans show their skills on the slopes. Be it the Big Air Contest for ski and snowboard, the Freeride-Challenge or the giant slalom – see the astounding feats of the pros with your own eyes. At the demo championship event the best skiing instructors show perfect wedeling techniques and synchronised skiing from a team of 6. Fascination and fun – additional parties and open air concerts will set the mood bubbling!
Weißer Rausch – the “White Fever race”

A massive spectacle in the snow is waiting for participants and spectators alike when the starting shot for the legendary “White Fever Race” is fired on April 25th 2009 at St. Anton am Arlberg.
Here we go: Mass start at 5 pm at the Vallugagrat at 2,650 metres altitude Several hundred skiers and snowboarders start moving at once!
Before them lies a 9 kilometre downhill run, covering 1,300 metres in altitude. The quickest make it to the finish in the space of 8 minutes and times between 11 and 18 minutes are an excellent average!
